IBS #3 Matthew 8:11

Matthew 8:11 For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.”


First off, I want to focus on the word Israel. Israel was considered to be home and was supposed to be where the people knew the mots about God or even had the most faith. However, this Centurion somehow had more faith then all of Israel… so often in the church I see those who are raised in the church or even by a Pastor and yet their faith is so little if it is even exists. But if someone if brought out of the world and a life of sin into the Church most the time they have much more faith and trust in God. Which shouldn’t make since, but I think that, is so because when people grow up hearing Bible “stories” they forget that they really did happened. And because of that they don’t need faith to believe in things that are just stories. But when someone becomes a Christian from a life of sin they haven’t been dumbed down their whole life to the marvelous works of God and Faith comes more natural.

Today I will pray that God will make the Bible come true in my life.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 There is two way to look at liberty; one is to see it as a chance to go off and do whatever they want to and the other is to see it as a chance to have the freedom to serve others. Here Paul is telling us to to choose the latter. we are called to be higher and called to live a life of sacrifice and laying down our freedoms. However, if we don't have liberty then we wouldn't have anything to lay down. IBS Galatians 3:2

Galatians 3:2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? In this verse Paul is asking the Galatians a rhetorical question and is just meaning for them to start thinking about the genius of their faith. This is something that we can all can benefit from doing. Any time that we as Christians start getting faith and works confused we immediately start loosing the effectiveness of our ministry. When you first hear this you might think to yourself "well atleast others will benefit from my ministry, right?" But so often we fail to realize that the Lord doesn't what to use our ministry to just benefit other, but rather He wants it to benefit us as well. If God only cared about getting the ministry done then He could just speak the words then it would be done and that would even be much more efficient, but rather He decides to use us an imperfect and sinful people to do His ministry. IBS #10 Ephesians 5:15-17

Ephesians 5:15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. When I examine my days I often look at how much time I spent doing absolutely nothing, or at least nothing that is beneficial. Paul is telling us that this shouldn’t be so. Paul says be wise and don’t waste your time because these days are short. We need to live a life that resinizes that there are people dying without Christ every day. And we need to do something about it, not in our own strength, but rather in the strength that comes through His wisdom. We shouldn’t live conformed to the world and foolish, but rather transformed walking in the wisdom of the Lord so that we can know what the will of the Lord is (Rom 12:10). So often I find myself asking what God’s will for my life is in this instance or that one, but what we as Christians need to do is dig into scriptur
